Consultation & Coaching

Sometimes, even for the DIYer, a little outside advice or insight can make a world of difference. For an hourly fee, John can provide an onsite consultation, followed by thorough notes and recommendations, or an ongoing coaching role as you develop your project.

Design

Whatever size property you have, a blank canvas can be a bit intimidating. John went through an intensive training with Dave Jacke, the author of Edible Forest Gardens, which he uses as a template for a very thorough, enjoyable, and effective design process. The amount of time spent developing the design, and the level of detail in the final design are up to you - whatever it is that you need to create your own oasis.

Installation & Maintenance

HomeGrown Organics can make your dream a reality. We specialize in water gardens and rain harvesting, edible plants, patios, paths, fences, and coops; all with an eye for recycling materials wherever possible. We take great pride in the quality and craft of our work and enjoy every drop of rain, and every beam of sun that keeps us company.

Our maintenance services focus on weeding, pruning and clean-ups. Whether you need to downsize your garden, get something crazy under control, or have us come out monthly or quarterly for upkeep we would be happy to help!

Home Grown Organics built two stone walls in our yard in two weeks’ time. John Coghlan was an excellent communicator about the process and scope of the work. He has two dependable, friendly and hardworking employees who performed the job well above our expectation. And they were pleasant guys and clearly took pride in their work.

I whole-heartedly recommend Home Grown Organics for any yard, garden, landscape architectural work you might be considering. And it was great using an island company to do the work.

I highly recommend Home Grown Organics. They redesigned and planted our challenging Beacon Hill hillside yard thoughtfully and with an eye towards native and sustainable planting. Their creative and flexible approach were perfect for us and we expanded and extended the process and accomplished more than we thought possible. The team was responsive and cost estimates and time commitments were accurate and met. We were thrilled with the results!
